August 6, 2009 - (updated - Help us get the word out there!)

Yesterday afternoon, we made a horrible and tragic mistake.  We used Hartz UltraGuard Plus Flea and Tick Drops For Cats on all four of our kitties.  By last night, our perfectly healthy 15 pound, 3 year old female Maizey, began uncontrollably shaking and twitching . . . by 6:00 this morning she was having seizures and is near death.  David has rushed her to the Vet in Farmington.  They are trying to save her even as I write this.
 

I only wish we had known ahead of time by looking on the internet before using this product.  People all over the country have lost beloved pets because of these products.  There are even websites devoted to wiping these products off the market.  PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW IN ORDER TO SAVE YOUR FRIENDS AND THEIR BELOVED PETS FROM EXPERIENCING WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH.  THESE DEADLY REACTIONS ARE COMMON. 

Update:  After $379 in vet bills and 5 days in the hospital, Maizey will survive.  She is home recuperating.  While not her "old self" we are hopeful that she will be back to normal after some TLC.

Please . . . If you love animals and support the ban on these products, read and sign the petition to have these products removed from the market.  The petition link is right here.
